
MOSCOW, 16 January (BelTA) – The Secretariat and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) are set to coordinate the plans for 2023 and 2024. The agreement was reached at the meeting between Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Imangali Tasmagambetov and Executive Secretary of the CSTO PA Sergey Pospelov, BelTA learned from CSTO Spokesman Vladimir Zainetdinov.
“This has been the first meeting of the newly-appointed CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov with the responsible secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. The parties discussed joint activities for 2023 and interaction of the CSTO Secretariat with the Secretariat of the CSTO PA in the current year in accordance with the previously approved plan. Sergey Pospelov updated Imangali Tasmagambetov on the work done to implement the activity program of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly on alignment and harmonization of the national legislations of the CSTO member states for 2021-2025. An agreement was reached to coordinate the plans of the CSTO Secretariat and the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly for 2023 and 2024,” the spokesman said.
“The parties emphasized the importance of cooperation in the parliamentary dimension and also the ongoing work on ratification of the documents adopted in the CSTO format as well as steps to increase the efficiency of interaction between the CSTO Secretariat and the CSTO PA,” the spokesman added.
