CSTO security council secretaries meet in Bishkek

MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Stanislav Zas is attending a session of the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Bishkek on 27 June, BelTA learned from the State Secretariat of the Security Council.

Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov has met with the heads of the delegations ahead of the session.

The participants of the meeting are discussing challenges and threats to collective security, measures aimed at easing tensions in the Tajik-Afghan border zone and taking stock of the progress made in the implementation of the decisions taken within the organization. The parties are expected to sign a number of documents to secure the coordination of the activity of the CSTO member states in the military and political field.
