CSTO chief to visit Belarus on 12-13 February

MOSCOW, 10 February (BelTA) - Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Imangali Tasmagambetov will visit Belarus on 12-13 February, BelTA learned from CSTO spokesman Vladimir Zainetdinov.

"The CSTO chief is set to meet with Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. The secretary general will submit for approval an action plan to implement the decisions of the November (2022) session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and the CSTO's priority areas of activity during Belarus' chairmanship which was agreed upon the day before by the CSTO Permanent Council," the spokesman said.

It is also expected that the CSTO secretary general will hold talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik, State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich and Defense Minister Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin.

This will be the first visit of Imangali Tasmagambetov to Minsk in the capacity of the CSTO Secretary General. The Republic of Belarus chairs the CSTO in 2023.
