Cooperation of Belarus with CSTO discussed in Minsk

MINSK, 5 March (BelTA) – Topical issues of international and regional security were discussed at length during a meeting hosted by the State Secretariat of Belarus' Security Council in Minsk on 5 March, BelTA learned from the Council.

“The theme was the main one during the negotiations between State Secretary of Belarus' Security Council Andrei Ravkov, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin and Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Stanislav Zas. They exchanged opinions on international and regional security issues,” the State Secretariat stressed.

The parties also reviewed Belarus' cooperation with the CSTO, and the preparations for the inter-sessional meetings of the Committee of Security Council Secretaries and the Council of Defense Ministers.

“The parties shared views on ways of further enhancing the effectiveness of the Collective Security Treaty Organization,” the Council noted.
