Contact group on Ukraine in Minsk discusses POW exchange lists

MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) – The trilateral contact group on Ukraine in Minsk is discussing the lists of people, who are held in captivity due to the conflict in the Donbass area, BelTA learned from the OSCE's special representative in the trilateral contact group on resolving the situation in Ukraine's east Martin Sajdik after the group's session on 13 March.

According to the source, the status of people on these lists is being clarified. “It is a very scrupulous work. The ambassador Toni Frisch takes care of it,” Martin Sajdik said.

Apart from matters concerning the exchange of captives on 13 March the subgroup on humanitarian affairs also discussed the necessary conditions for improving the contact line. Asked about the situation around the reconstruction of the checkpoint Stanitsa Luganskaya, Martin Sajdik noted: “I am extremely dissatisfied with the state of affairs. Unfortunately, we've been unable to improve crossing conditions, in particular, for elderly people, which find them exceedingly toilsome.”
