CIS to discuss fight against terrorism amid evolving threats to national security

MOSCOW, 23 March (BelTA) – The 14th meeting of the heads of the national anti-terrorist centers of the CIS member states will be held in the headquarters of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center (CIS ATC) on 26 March. The meeting will discuss CIS efforts to counter terrorism amid evolving threats to national security, BelTA learned from the CIS ATC press center.

“The participants of the meeting will discuss tendencies and factors that affect security of the CIS member states at the present time, make a short-term forecast for the development of the situation, and outline priority avenues of cooperation between security forces and special services in the fight against terrorism and extremism. The agenda also includes the organization of the CIS joint anti-terrorism exercise Kaspy-Antiterror 2021,” the press service noted.

The exercise will bring together representatives of nine CIS member states: Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan as well as the CIS Executive Committee, the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
