CIS plenipotentiaries to meet in Minsk on 25 February to finalize CIS summit agenda

MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – A session of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member States at the Charter-based and Other CIS Bodies will be held at the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk on 25 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

Six items are on the agenda. The plenipotentiaries will take stock of the CIS Year of the Book, consider proposals to the draft agenda of the next meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council which will be held in Tashkent on 29 May.

The members of the council will discuss Russia's proposal to hold a meeting of the expert group to set up a CIS human rights commission, will consider the formation and execution of the common budget of the CIS bodies.

The plenipotentiaries are set to adopt the draft agendas of the joint meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives and the Economic Affairs Commission at the CIS Economic Council and the next meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives, and to examine the preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony for the CIS Alley of Friendship in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
