CIS Heads of Government Council meeting postponed to 8 June at Russia's request

MINSK, 30 March (BelTA) – At the request of Russia, the CIS Heads of Government Council meeting has been postponed to 8 June, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev told reporters, BelTA has learned.

“The CIS Heads of Government Council was supposed to convene in Sochi on 7 June. The meeting has been postponed to 8 June at the suggestion of the Russian side. Thus, the heads of government of the CIS countries will gather in Sochi on 8 June,” Sergei Lebedev said.

“A number of important economic events will be held on the sidelines of the CIS Heads of Government Council meeting in Sochi. They will be running on 7-9 June: the EAEU Intergovernmental Council meeting, an economic forum that is to be attended by the heads of government of the CIS countries. We hope that all these events will contribute to strengthening economic cooperation between the CIS member states,” the CIS secretary general said.
