MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) – One can see the Western interference in Belarus' internal affairs, Professor of the Renmin University of China Wang Xianju said during a video conference organized by the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research (BISR) to discuss the post-election situation in Belarus in the context of international relations, BelTA has learned.
“I worked at the Chinese embassy in Belarus for six years from 2005 to 2011. I observed the presidential election in March 2006 and December 2010. Rallies, protests of the opposition are familiar to me. We know how they acted from the West and interfered with the internal affairs of Belarus. This time the scale is much bigger. We did not expect it. One can trace the Western intervention here,” Wang Xianju said.
The professor emphasized that Belarus is one of the most stable countries in the CIS and the former Soviet Union. “We support the Belarusian authorities. It is important to maintain political and social stability in the country. Without stability there will be no reforms and development. China is following the same path. We are confident that political stability in the state and society will be guaranteed under Aleksandr Lukashenko's leadership,” he added.
