
MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) - Belarusian Consul General Andrei Andreyev led a delegation of heads and representatives of consulates general of foreign countries in Shanghai during a visit to the city of Suqian, Jiangsu Province, on 19-21 April, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Shanghai.
During the “Dialogue between Jiangsu Province and Foreign Consulates General in Shanghai” organized by the Chinese side with the participation of heads of various departments of the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, Andrei Andreyev suggested deepening the entire range of trade, economic, scientific, technical, educational, medical and cultural relations of Jiangsu Province with the Republic of Belarus as a practical implementation of the agreements reached during the meeting of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Chinese President Xi Jinping who paid close attention to interregional ties.
According to the consul general, the successfully developing Belarusian-Chinese dialogue is based on firm and consistent mutual support for the vital interests of the two countries, including protection of national sovereignty and independence, territorial integrity and inadmissibility of foreign interference in internal affairs, including through sanctions pressure.
During the talks with the leadership of the city of Suqian, an agreement was reached to establish direct cooperation between the Chinese city and Belarus through twinning relations. Andrei Andreyev noted the prospects of implementing joint projects in new technologies, agriculture, food production and tourism, including cooperation with the Suqian innovative agricultural park.
The delegation of foreign diplomats took part in a tree planting ceremony in the Garden of International Friendship, as well as the opening ceremony of the annual cultural and tourist festival of Suqian.
