
MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – We need to do everything possible to promote cooperation between Belarus and Hungary for the benefit of the two countries, Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said at a meeting with head of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik in Minsk on 13 February, BelTA has learned.
"Today we are facing new challenges of the time," the minister stressed. “We have a very narrow corridor of opportunities in terms of cooperation. But we must do everything possible to cooperate for the benefit of our countries."
He also touched upon the Ukrainian topic and its impact on world processes, as well as the importance of a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
Bilateral documents will also be signed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Hungary were established on 12 February 1992. The Embassy of Belarus in Hungary was opened in January 2000, the Hungarian Embassy in Minsk - in December 2007.
