Call for unified approach to maternal capital in Belarus, Russia

MOSCOW, 18 February (BelTA) – Members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia believe it is necessary for the two countries to bring closer their approaches to paying out maternal capital. The relevant statement was made at a session of the Social and Youth Policy, Science, Culture, and Humanitarian Affairs Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in Moscow, BelTA has learned.

The press service of the Belarusian-Russian parliament said that participants of the session discussed equal rights of Belarusian and Russian citizens in social sphere. The MPs were made familiar with peculiarities of implementing rights of Belarusian and Russian citizens to getting maternal capital (family capital). Differences in Belarusian and Russian approaches to the matter were noted. Since citizens of the Union State of Belarus and Russia are supposed to enjoy equal rights, the MPs recommended that the labor and social security ministries of Belarus and Russia should discuss the matter together and come up with a unified solution.

Representatives of the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the ministries of culture, labor and social protection of Belarus and Russia, the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry, members of the Youth Chamber under the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia took part in the work of the commission.
