Call for business to facilitate cooperation between EU and Eurasia countries

VERONA, 19 October (BelTA) - Diplomacy and influence of business should facilitate cooperation between the EU and Eurasia countries, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banca Intesa, President of the Association Conoscere Eurasia Antonio Fallico said during the opening ceremony of the 10th Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona, BelTA has learned.

“We need to move away from confrontation to interaction. Business can do a lot to smooth out the differences, find common ground, and move away from economic sanctions.

We all realize that businesses pursue the interests of their countries in their own foreign economic activity because it is crucial for many growth indicators in the countries. In recent years the world community has faced the tough financial and economic crisis, the upsurge of terrorism and wars, the ‘wild' development of the market, and large immigration flows. Italy, for its part, is gradually recovering from the crisis, and the current situation encourages us and the EU states to be open to the countries of Eurasia, to look for new management elements,” Antonio Fallico said.

Antonio Fallico stressed that the key slogan of the Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona is the Art of Innovations. It applies not only to technology and science but also to cooperation between the two countries.

“The Verona forum is a platform for dialogue and cooperation. We hope for effective economic cooperation of all parties involved in our broad international discussion,” he said.

In 2017 the theme of the forum is Greater Eurasia as a driving force in the current international geopolitical and economic context.

The two-day event includes sessions focusing on the interaction between the EU and the EAEU, on energy, finance, transportation and infrastructure, interregional cooperation, information and digital technologies.
