MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian political party Belaya Rus may be registered by the end of April – early May, BelTA learned from Oleg Romanov, Chairman of the public association Belaya Rus, chairman of the organizing committee in charge of creating the Belaya Rus Party.
Oleg Romanov said: “We are now busy preparing the package of documents, which will be submitted to the Justice Ministry for the consequent registration of our party. We believe we will submit the documents next week. And the party may be registered by the end of April – early May. Apart from that, we are doing a lot of work getting ready to set up regional branches of the party. We are polishing our program documents. The work going on now is not so glamorous but it is very important for the future successful operation of the party, for the party's ability to accomplish the tasks it is supposed to accomplish.”
Oleg Romanov stressed that he fully supports Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko, in particular, the assumption that political parties in Belarus should not be competitors of the state. “Moreover, they should not be enemies and opponents for each other. All the quarrels and rows between parties should not exist in our party system. Political parties should have healthy competition but interaction for the sake of tackling the common tasks Belarusian political parties face would be even more preferable,” he added.
