Belarusian Parliament speaker calls to peace talks on Ukraine

MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) - The Ukrainian conflict can only be resolved through negotiations, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko told reporters following a meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

"The president raised this issue today and, in my opinion, there is no other recipe but to sit down at the negotiating table and slowly move towards resolving this issue. No one has come up with another recipe. No matter how much time passes, we will still come to this," Vladimir Andreichenko said.

He was also asked about the current status of interaction with the OSCE. "We work in the OSCE. We attend all meetings of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Indeed, it is not easy to work there today, but we are experienced people. The delegation to the OSCE PA is headed by Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs Andrei Savinykh," he said.

Vladimir Andreichenko said that the next meeting will be hosted by Canada, and before that Belarus will hold a coordinating meeting with all delegations that will participate in order to develop coordinated positions on defending their interests.
