MINSK, 2 August (BelTA) – Belarus interacts with Iran in a constructive manner in many areas but there is no oil barter project in the works. The statement was made by Anatoly Glaz, Head of the Information and Digital Diplomacy Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, when BelTA asked him to comment on mass media reports, which claim Belarus and Iran had struck a barter deal to exchange oil for machines, vehicles, and equipment.

The spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA: “Belarus enjoys good and constructive relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. We successfully work together in a number of areas, however, the project to exchange oil for machines and equipment is not one of them.”
