
MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed topical issues of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
“The deputy minister noted that Belarus welcomes the nomination of the current Director General of the FAO Qu Dongyu to the post of the head of the organization for a new term. The impartial and de-politicized approaches of the FAO secretariat to the implementation of the tasks of international cooperation in the area of the organization's responsibility, objective assessments of the global food security and factors influencing it arouse deep respect and support of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” the ministry said.
