MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – Belarus' delegation called on UNESCO member states to avoid politicizing the organization as Belarus took part in the 207th session of the UNESCO Executive Board in Paris, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in France.

Belarus' delegation is led by Belarus' Ambassador to France and Permanent Representative to UNESCO Igor Fisenko. “Addressing the attendees, the head of the Belarusian delegation urged all member states to refrain from politicizing the UNESCO activities and to focus on promoting science, education and culture around the world in line with the mandate and spirit of UNESCO,” the embassy noted.

Speaking at the plenary session, Belarus' permanent representative mentioned the successful conduct of the 2nd European Games in Minsk and emphasized their importance for promotion of sports and maintaining peace in the world.
