MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – Upon the initiative of the American side State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Andrei Ravkov met with Charge d'Affaires of the United States of America in Belarus Jenifer Moore and military attachés of the USA, Germany, and Poland accompanying her on 29 January, the State Secretariat of the Security Council told BelTA.
The meeting touched upon matters of Belarus-USA cooperation, problems of international and regional security considering plans to arrange the large-scale military exercise Defender Europe 2020, which will involve army units from the USA and a number of European NATO member states.
The foreign partners talked in detail about preparations to redeploy the army units ahead of the forthcoming exercise.
Jenifer Moore and the military attachés of NATO member states confirmed the readiness to make the Defender Europe 2020 exercise as transparent as possible in the spirit of effective international agreements and commitments concerning trust and security measures.
