Belarus, UK preparing for first broader talks of Trade Dialogue

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – Belarus and the United Kingdom are getting ready for the first broader talks of the Trade Dialogue at the level of the governments of the two states,” BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

These matters were in focus of the meetings and talks hosted by the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 21 June. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with Minister of State for Trade Policy at the Department for International Trade of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland George Hollingbery who is on a visit to Minsk. He will attend the opening ceremony of the 2nd European Games.

With a view to implementing the agreements reached during the visit of the Belarusian foreign minister to London in 2018, the parties launched the Trade Dialogue at the level of the governments of Belarus and the UK. The parties discussed political contacts, joint projects, cooperation in the banking sector and finances.

Belarus Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko and George Hollingbery discussed in detail collaboration in trade, economy and investment and reviewed preparations for the first broader talks of the Trade Dialogue.

George Hollingbery toured the Hi-Tech Park and exporting companies.
