Belarus top election official to give press conference at BelTA on 14 August

MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) – The press conference on the preparation for the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Belarus will take place at the BelTA press center on 14 August at 14.30. Taking part in the conference will be Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina.

On 5 August Belarusian head of state Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 293 and Decree 294 to set the dates for the elections to the Council of the Republic and the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the 7th convocation. They will be held on 7 and 17 November 2019 respectively. On 6 August the CEC approved the schedules of organizational activities to prepare for the parliamentary elections. Belarus' CEC also launched the elections 2019 website at http://vybary2019.by to cover all the important events of the elections.

Lidia Yermoshina will speak about the specific features of the elections and preparations for them.
