Belarus to host Moldovan, Pakistani, Swiss parliamentary delegations in 2020

MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) – The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus is to host parliamentary delegations of Moldova, Pakistan, and Switzerland in 2020. The International Affairs Commission of the House of Representatives convened for a meeting to discuss international parliamentary cooperation on 20 January, BelTA has learned.

Belarusian MPs intend to visit Egypt and Serbia in 2020. Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko is expected to lead both the delegations. Moreover, Vladimir Andreichenko is scheduled to take part in the Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament. “Work is underway to arrange visits of the parliamentary speakers of Moldova, Pakistan, and Switzerland to Belarus,” Chairman of the International Affairs Commission Andrei Savinykh said as he presented a draft plan for international parliamentary cooperation of the House of Representatives.

Apart from developing bilateral cooperation, the priorities include strengthening ties with international parliamentary organizations. The draft plan is not final. MPs are currently compiling a list of meetings to ensure that they work to enhance cooperation with various regions.
