
MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – During its presidency in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Belarus has plans to host an international conference on security prospects in Eurasia in the second half of the year, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich said as he addressed the Conference on Disarmament's High-Level Segment, BelTA informs.
“We hope that an attempt to discuss this important issue will bring the world closer to recognizing the legitimate and justified concerns of each state and will help create a stable system of equal and indivisible security with respective individual and collective guarantees,” said Yuri Ambrazevich.
According to the diplomat, the Conference on Disarmament, given its unique mandate, could also consistently contribute to achieving this goal, raise the global awareness of the problems of all-out militarization and the arms race, the threats of which are becoming a reality.
