Belarus thanked for great organization of Eurasian summit

MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) – Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin thanked Belarus for an excellent organization of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Minsk as he met with Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 17 July, BelTA has learned.

“Roman Aleksandrovich Golovchenko has done a lot to make everything as smooth as possible. Great thanks for a wonderful organization of the forum,” Mikhail Mishustin said.

The Russian prime minister said that the parties to the meeting discussed a wide range of issues, including the freedom of trade, the movement of goods, capital and people. “I believe we have done a lot, signed the appropriate documents, and agreed almost on every issue, including compromises,” he said.

Mikhail Mishustin also spoke about the development of bilateral relations between Belarus and Russia, drawing attention to the important documents signed recently in Moscow, including in the field of nuclear energy. According to him, joint projects in the field of digital technologies are also in the pipeline. “I would also like to highlight the prospects of our fraternal allied relations which are laid down in the Union State Treaty,” the prime minister continued. “I think that if we undertake more efforts with the government of Belarus, in Russia, we could come up with measures that would rediscover the possibilities of the Union State Treaty.” While developing the integration processes, the main thing is to maintain independence so that the opportunities for economic cooperation are absolutely mutual, equal, the Russian prime minister noted.
