Belarus, South Africa seek to take bilateral cooperation to new level

MINSK, 7 March (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa to Russia and Belarus Mzuvukile Jeff Maqetuka, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed in detail the topical issues of the common agenda. Special attention was paid to the intensification of trade and economic cooperation with the focus on agriculture and food security. They also agreed to step up industrial cooperation between Belarus and South Africa.

The parties praised the progressive development of cooperation between the two countries over 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations on 4 March 1993. They emphasized the importance of taking bilateral interaction to a new level.
