Belarus sees big prospects in investment cooperation with Turkey

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Belarus sees big prospects in investment cooperation with Turkey, Viktor Rybak, who was appointed Belarus' Ambassador to Turkey and Iraq (non-resident) on 12 September, told the media, BelTA has learned.

According to Viktor Rybak, Turkey is an important trade and economic partner for Belarus. The two countries have been developing full-fledged bilateral cooperation. Over the past three years the political dialogue has intensified at all the levels. In 2016, Turkey's president paid a visit to Belarus. The Belarusian head of state visited Turkey in April 2019. The parties agreed to increase mutual trade to $1.5 billion.

“The main goal is to balance trading relations between the two countries. The same political will is demonstrated by Turkey. During the recent visit of the Turkish minister of foreign affairs to Belarus the Turkish delegation reaffirmed readiness to work with us to balance mutual trade,” Viktor Rybak said.

He also stressed the importance of implementing joint projects and setting up representations of Belarusian companies in Turkey.
