Belarus, Saudi Arabia discuss mutual visits

MINSK, 17 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Saudi Arabia plan to hold a meeting of the joint committee on trade and economic cooperation in the near future, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The matter was discussed at a meeting between Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud on 16 February. The talks took place during Vladimir Makei's participation in the 56th Munich Security Conference.

“The parties hailed bilateral dialogue and cooperation. Agreements were reached to hold a meeting of the joint committee on trade and economic cooperation in the near future, and also on the exchange of visits at various levels,” the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The parties discussed ways to expand cooperation in a number of areas, including the energy, digital and agricultural sectors.

On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference the Belarusian minister of foreign affairs held brief talks with the ministers of foreign affairs of Armenia, Georgia, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan and Poland, and also the heads of the delegations of a number of other countries and international organizations.
