Belarus, Russia's Tyumen Oblast to step up cooperation in industry, energy

MOSCOW, 22 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia's Tyumen Oblast agreed to intensify cooperation in industry, energy and other sectors, the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Russia told BelTA following the visit of the Belarusian delegation led by Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich to Tyumen Oblast on 18-21 February.

“The Belarusian delegation held meetings with the authorities of the region. The program also includes a meeting of the joint working group on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between Belarus and Tyumen Oblast, a roundtable on the prospects for cooperation between Tyumen Oblast and Belarus. The Belarusian delegation considered ways to intensify interaction with the region in the field of industry, energy, agriculture, education and training in higher educational institutions, and also in other areas, and coordinated positions on possible ways for the implementation of joint projects on terms that meet the interests of both the parties,” the press service said.

The Belarusian delegation visited Tyumenstalmost Company, Antipinsky Oil Refinery, the Elektrostal Tyumen steel plant, Technocenter, the Radiological Center of the Tyumen Medical City, Agrarian State University of Northern Zauralye, the Tyumen Technopark.

The parties signed the protocol of the working group on trade, economy and technology cooperation, the cooperation agreement between the administration of the Yarkovsky municipal district of Tyumen Oblast and the Dobrush Sistrict Executive Committee of Gomel Oblast, the cooperation agreement between Buda-Koshelevo District of Gomel Oblast and the Vikulovsky municipal district of Tyumen Oblast.
