
MOSCOW, 2 February (BelTA) – The Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State will receive a partner status at the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. A draft agreement formalizing this decision was developed and approved by the secretariats of the two organizations, said Vladimir Dzhabarov, a member of the Commission for Foreign Affairs, Migration Policy and Relations with Compatriots of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, BelTA has learned.
“While working on the document, we received a number of remarks from our colleagues from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and these remarks were taken into account,” Vladimir Dzhabarov said in Moscow at an expanded meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly Commission for Foreign Affairs, Migration Policy and Relations with Compatriots. Taking part in the meeting were parliamentarians of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
“This draft agreement has passed all the necessary approval procedures in the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly,” said Sergey Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly - Head of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Secretariat.
The draft agreement was approved at the meeting. It will be submitted for consideration to the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly.
