Belarus' progress in achieving SGDs reviewed

MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) - The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a meeting of National Coordinator for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Valery Belsky with the heads of the UN agencies in Belarus on 4 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting was attended by UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki, UNDP Resident Representative Alexandra Solovieva, WHO Representative Sergey Diorditsa, UNICEF Representative Rustam Haydarov and UNFPA Office Head Olga Atroshchenko.

“The participants of the event discussed joint work and prospects for Belarus to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the preparations for the forthcoming meeting of the Council for Sustainable Development scheduled for 17 April. The event will mark International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
