MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko will most likely accept Russia President Vladimir Putin's invitation to attend a ceremony to unveil the Monument to the Soviet Soldier due in the Russian city of Rzhev on 30 June, Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told journalists, BelTA has learned.
“During the Victory Day parade in Moscow, the Russian president invited his Belarusian counterpart to take part in the ceremony to inaugurate the Rzhev memorial. The program of a possible visit of the Belarusian president is in the works. I think that the Belarusian president will accept the invitation and attend the ceremony,” Vladimir Makei said.
“This will give the two heads of state a good opportunity to speak and discuss the important matters of bilateral and multilateral interaction,” he added.
