Belarus, Poland discuss prospects for parliamentary cooperation

MINSK, 14 January (BelTA) - Belarus and Poland discussed the prospects for parliamentary cooperation, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Warsaw.

Belarusian Ambassador to Poland Vladimir Chushev and Polish Senate Marshal Tomasz Grodzki discussed a wide range of issues of Belarusian-Polish cooperation and also the role of parliamentary ties in the whole range of relations between Belarus and Poland, including in the context of future contacts between MPs.

The embassy also noted that 2019 was a good year for the development of parliamentary contacts. For example, the chairman of the Council of the Republic [the upper house of the parliament of Belarus] visited Warsaw and Bialystok in February. In June, the Polish Senate marshal visited Grodno and Minsk to participate in the Good Neighborhood forum.
