Belarus, Pakistan plan to exchange visits at level of foreign ministers

MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) – Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Belarus Leena Salim Moazzam on 20 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry.

During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda, including the exchange of visits at the level of foreign ministers, the development of trade and economic cooperation, and the preparations for the next session of the Belarus-Pakistan commission on trade and economic cooperation.

Special consideration was given to the ways of intensifying cooperation through the inter-ministerial working groups in the fields of industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, science and education in order to substantially increase trade between the two countries and launch new promising trade and economic projects.

Prior to the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Belarus and Pakistan (established in February 2019), the parties considered joint steps to organize a number of Belarusian-Pakistani events to mark this occasion.
