Belarus, Pakistan discuss preparations for Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to Minsk

MINSK, 17 February (BelTA) - Belarusian Ambassador to Pakistan Andrei Metelitsa met with Rabia Shafiq, Director General (Europe-II) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, BelTA learned from the pres service of the Belarusian Embassy in Pakistan.

The parties discussed the topical issues on the bilateral agenda, including the 6th session of the Belarus-Pakistan joint commission on trade and economic cooperation, meetings of the bilateral working groups and the fifth round of ministerial consultations. These events are an important part of the preparations for Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to Minsk following the invitation extended by the Belarusian head of state.

The parties also reviewed the possibilities to expand the legal framework of cooperation by signing a number of documents during the above-mentioned events.

Steps to intensify bilateral cooperation were outlined during the meeting.

The parties agreed on the importance of using economic diplomacy tools to strengthen the entire spectrum of relations between the two nations.
