Belarus opens honorary vice-consulate in Biarritz

MINSK, 14 December (BelTA) – The ceremony to inaugurate Belarus' Honorary Vice-Consulate took place in Biarritz, France on 13 December, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Belarus' Ambassador to France Pavel Latushko presented the flag and emblem of Belarus to Vice Consul Patrick Dours. The diplomat will operate in a consular district which covers Pyrenees-Atlantiques in the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

Pavel Latushko stressed that Belarus is interested in developing mutually beneficial relations with France. He emphasized the priority of Belarus-France interregional cooperation which is also promoted through efforts of the honorary consulates of the two countries.

The ceremony was attended by the local authorities, representatives of the National Assembly of France and the city council, business circles, the consular corps of Biarritz, and also the Belarusian diaspora. The event also included a presentation of the economic opportunities of the Belarusian-French cooperation and the tourism potential of Belarus.
