Belarus' openness to dialogue with EU welcomed

MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) - Relations between Belarus and the EU have improved significantly in recent years, Head of the EU Delegation to Minsk Andrea Wiktorin told the media in the Oval Hall where she is attending as a guest the State of the National Annual Address from the president to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly, BelTA has learned..

“Belarus sends positive messages on many levels and in many ways” with regard to the further development of contacts, the head of the EU Delegation said. Andrea Wiktorin stressed: “We are here to listen to the address of the president of Belarus. This is important because the president will address the issues related to international relations of the country. We look forward with interest to the address and are fully open to everything the president will speak about.”

“I can speak on behalf of the European Union that relations with Belarus have considerably improved in recent years. Belarus is open to dialogue and shows readiness to take every effort to maintain security in the region,” she said.
