Belarus-Oman Business Cooperation Council to sit in Minsk in April

MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – The third session of the Belarus-Oman Business Cooperation Council will take place in Minsk in April. The preparations for the session were discussed during the visit of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Egypt Sergei Rachkov to Oman where he has concurrent accreditation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Sergei Rachkov met with the chief of Eastern Europe, European Department of the Oman Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss topical issues of Belarus-Oman relations, including plans to hold another round of bilateral political consultations and to sign a number of cooperation agreements in the areas of mutual interest.

Sergei Rachkov also met with Undersecretary of Ministry of Commerce & Industry Ahmed Bin Hassan Al-Dheeb to discuss ways to intensify bilateral trade and boost cooperation in investment. The meeting with Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry Qais Al Yusuf focused on trade and economic contacts between Belarus and Oman and the preparations for the third session of the Belarus-Oman Business Cooperation Council that is due in Minsk in April.

Sergei Rachkov also met with Advisor to the Minister of Heritage and Culture Faisal bin Hamoud bin Nasr al-Busaidi to discuss the organization and conduct of the Days of Belarusian Culture in Oman in November. Top on the agenda of the meeting with Director General of the Oman National Museum Jamal bin Hassan al Mousawi was cooperation between museums of the two countries, including the preparations for an Omani exhibition at the National Art Museum of Belarus.

During the visit, the Belarusian ambassador also met with representatives of the local business community.
