Belarus MFA to issue report on outrageous cases of human rights violations in certain countries

MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus has compiled a report "The most outrageous cases of human rights violations in certain countries 2022", Irina Velichko, the head of the Central Office of Multilateral Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, said as she addressed a special event on racism, racial discrimination and xenophobia in Europe with a focus on victimization and glorification of Nazi accomplices. The web-based event was organized jointly by Belarus and Russia on the sidelines of the 50th session of the UN Human Rights Council, BelTA has learned.

"This year, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has compiled a regular report on human rights violations in certain countries, which also includes the cases dealing with human rights violations related to the theme we are discussing today," she said. "The report will soon be published on the Ministry's website and distributed among the national and international community."

Irina Velichko stressed that the report, as in previous years, is not intended to give an analysis of the ongoing processes and does not claim to be a complete representation of all violations of human rights in the countries covered in the report. According to her, the document highlights the most outrageous cases of human rights violations in certain countries that have attracted the attention of human rights defenders, the media and international organizations.
