Belarus, Latvia discuss political, military cooperation

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – Belarus Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas met with Edgars Skuja, Acting Head of the Security Policy and International Organizations Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, Andrei Dapkiunas and Edgars Skuja exchanged views on topical issues of regional and European security, discussed the prospects for political and military-political cooperation between Belarus and Latvia.

The parties welcomed the dynamics of development of the bilateral dialogue, highlighted the importance of holding regular substantive ministerial consultations with the aim of building trust between the two countries and strengthening security in the European region.
