
MINSK, 15 December (BelTA) - Head of the working group of the Parliament of Belarus on cooperation with the Parliament of Kazakhstan Svetlana Lyubetskaya met with members of the working group of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on cooperation with the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus at the House of Representatives on 15 December, BelTA has learned.
“Our countries enjoy fairly strong economic and inter-cultural ties. All good things must be continued and, if possible, multiplied. It is the task of MPs to fulfill this mission. The positive tendencies are rather well observed today at the level of our diplomatic ministries. Special thanks to them because with their support and constant work it is also possible to implement the goals and tasks that we see in our parliamentary activity,” said Svetlana Lyubetskaya.
Besides the governments of the two countries are actively working on implementation of mutually beneficial projects, the MP said. “We need to keep this pace and achieve those economic effects that each country expects,” the MP added.
“There are very good developments, upward trends in mutual trade. Additional mechanisms of parliamentary cooperation are also actively used,” she said.
“Inter-parliamentary cooperation is an important element of development of the states. Issues which can be solved at the parliamentary level, such as economic cooperation, cultural exchanges, information exchange issues regarding national and information security, are very important. The states, which are building good neighborly and mutually beneficial relations, are actively using this practice today, “ said Svetlana Lyubetskaya. “The working group meetings are another stage of the Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation and the search for mutually beneficial ways of MPs as representatives of the people to build mutually beneficial interests and to implement the messages voiced by the citizens of our countries to improve the living standards, to increase the competitiveness of the economy, security. It is important to understand what interests we have and what interests can be implemented.”
A parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan is visiting Belarus on 15-16 December. The program of the visit envisages meetings with representatives of the House of Representatives. Kazakhstan's MPs are set to visit Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ), the agricultural complex Dzerzhinsky, get familiar with the production of enterprises affiliated with the Belarusian state concern for the production and sale of light industry goods.
