Belarus, Italy discuss political dialogue, investment projects

MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – Another round of Belarus-Italy ministerial consultations was held in Rome, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed BelTA.

The delegations reviewed the current state of the political dialogue between Belarus and Italy, and also between Belarus and the EU, and promising ways to bolster the dialogue, to tighten intergovernmental and interparliamentary ties, and to improve the legal framework of bilateral relations.

The parties analyzed the dynamics of the bilateral economic cooperation and the status of implementation of joint investment projects in various areas. Topical matters of humanitarian and consular cooperation were also discussed.

They also evaluated prospects for promoting joint initiatives of the two countries within international and regional organizations (OSCE, Central European Initiative, UN system bodies, and others).

The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov. The Italian delegation was led by Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Manlio Di Stefano.
