Belarus, Israel consider expanding visa-free travel opportunities

MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) - The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Israel held another round of consultations on consular matters at the level of heads of consular services in Jerusalem, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Israel.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues of consular cooperation, including the possibility of expanding the scope of the visa-free regime and tools to assist citizens in emergency situations, establishing direct interaction between the migration services and the ministries of internal affairs in general.

"Special consideration was given to the search for mutually acceptable solutions to the issues related to the entry of Belarusian citizens into Israel," the embassy said.

The diplomatic mission said that following the consultations, the parties reached a number of agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation between the consular services of Belarus and Israel, resolving effectively bilateral consular issues, including in terms of protecting the rights and interests of citizens of the two states, facilitating the procedure for obtaining official documents and crossing the state border.
