MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) – Belarus plays an important geopolitical role in Europe. This is why a large number of international observers are monitoring the parliamentary elections, BelTA learned from the European Parliament's policy advisor and independent observer Gregory Jullien.
Gregory Jullien said: “Belarus plays an important geopolitical role in Europe today, this is why the interest in the elections is so great and this is why so many international observers have come here.”
In his words, his overall impression of the election campaign is positive. “I've been to several polling stations. Everything was transparent. I've been to the Central Election Commission, talked to OSCE representatives. It is good that Belarus has taken into account certain OSCE recommendations that were put forward after the previous elections in the country,” the independent observer noted.
