Belarus' Honorary Consulate in Lvov suspends operation

MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – The Honorary Consulate of Belarus in Lvov has suspended its operation, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Ukraine.

“Due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation associated with the spread of the coronavirus infection, the office of the Honorary Consulate of Belarus in Lvov has temporarily suspended its operation from 17 November to 31 December,” the Belarusian foreign mission said.

For the period of its temporary suspension, Belarusian citizens are advised to contact the consular section of the Belarusian embassy in Ukraine.

The Belarusian diplomatic mission added that the Belarusian embassy in Kiev provide consular services on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Belarus and Ukraine established diplomatic relations on 27 December 1991. The Belarusian embassy in the Ukrainian capital opened in October 1993. Over 200 international agreements and other international legal acts have been concluded between the two countries. The fundamental document regulating bilateral cooperation between Belarus and Ukraine is the Treaty on Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation which was signed in July 1995 and became effective in August 1997.
