MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Germany held the second meeting of the Strategic Advisory Group in a video conference format on 2 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Oleg Kravchenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, and Michael Siebert, Director for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia at the German Federal Foreign Office.
During the videoconference the parties had a substantive exchange of views on the priorities and ways to expand the cooperation between Belarus and Germany in politics, security, economy, energy, digitalization, environment nd sustainable development, including amid the pandemic.
The Strategic Advisory Group Belarus-Germany was set up in pursuance of the agreement reached by Foreign Ministers Vladimir Makei of Belarus and Heiko Maas of Germany in Berlin in October 2019. It consists of representatives of governments, parliaments, economic, scientific and social circles of the two countries. The first meeting was held in Berlin on 12 February 2020.
