Belarus' elections 2019: Turnout at 4.69% on first day of early voting

MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – An estimated 4.69 percent of voters turned out for the first day of early voting ahead of the 17 November parliamentary elections in Belarus. The data was posted on the website of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

On 12 September, a total of 3.89 percent of ballots were cast in Brest Oblast, with 5.52 percent cast in Vitebsk Oblast. A total of 4.82% of eligible voters took advantage of early voting in Gomel Oblast, with 3.68%, 4.87% and 4.63% of early votes cast in Grodno, Minsk and Mogilev oblasts respectively.

Turnout in Minsk made up 5.14%.

The voter register includes almost 6.9 million citizens.

Early voting kicked off on 12 November to last through 16 November inclusively.
