MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) – The CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly has not registered any violations in the preparation for and the organization of the parliamentary elections in Belarus, Secretary General of the CIS IPA Council Dmitry Kobitsky told the media on 17 November, BelTA has learned.

CIS IPA representatives are in Belarus for three days already. They have met with representatives of various parties, the Central Election Commission and also visited polling stations during early voting.

“We have no remarks concerning the polling stations we visited. We asked voters if they had any questions or comments, and heard none of them,” said the secretary general of the CIS IPA Council.

A total of 46 people make part of the CIS IPA election observation mission. Today, they are present at the polling stations of Minsk, Minsk Oblast and other regions. “By the evening we will be ready with a conclusion which will include all our observations of the day. Tomorrow the council of coordinators will announce the final conclusion of the mission,” said Dmitry Kobitsky.

Coordinator of the CIS IPA group of observers Abdujabbor Abduqahhor Azizi said: “It is obvious that a lot of work has been done [to prepare for the elections]. The electoral campaign was conducted within the legal field. All preparatory activities carried out by the relevant commissions are consistent with the election legislation of Belarus and international electoral standards.”

“We have visited many polling stations, met with leaders of parties, associations and individual candidates. There have been no complaints regarding any violation or pressure from the authorities,” the coordinator of the group of observers said.
