Belarus, China ready to step up multifaceted partnership

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Belarus and China have reaffirmed their commitment to develop a multifaceted partnership. This statement was made at the meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Aleinik and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Xie Xiaoyong, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The parties exchanged views on topical issues of the bilateral agenda and confirmed plans to promote a multifaceted partnership across the entire spectrum of bilateral relations,” the foreign ministry said.

The diplomats also discussed the upcoming bilateral events, including the session of the Belarus-China Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, as well as interaction in regional and international organizations. They pledged further support to each other in matters representing fundamental interests of the two countries.

“China promised to support Belarus in its efforts to join the SCO and to build contacts with BRICS,” the press service added.
