Belarus, China discuss Beijing's peaceful initiatives, preparations for Lukashenko's visit

MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Qin Gang on 24 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The parties discussed topical issues of the bilateral agenda, the situation in the region and on the global world map. In this regard, the parties paid special attention to the situation in Ukraine and discussed the peace initiatives for settling the crisis put forward by the Chinese side. The parties agreed that there was no alternative to a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

A separate topic of conversation was the progress made in the preparation for an upcoming visit of the Belarusian president to the People's Republic of China.

The foreign ministers confirmed their interest in further deepening of all-round strategic partnership, and also their readiness to provide mutual support in the international arena.
