Belarus, Burkina Faso working on framework cooperation agreement

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Burkina Faso are preparing an intergovernmental framework cooperation agreement for signing, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

Work on the document was discussed as Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas met with non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Burkina Faso to Belarus Antoine Somdah. The sides also discussed progress in preparing other bilateral agreements on cooperation in agriculture, science and technology, education.

The sides discussed the possible schedule of bilateral contacts at the high level and prospects of establishing tighter cooperation between the ministries of foreign affairs. Close attention was paid to resuming the deliveries of Belarusian agricultural machines to Burkina Faso and assisting with more active direct contacts between the private sectors of the two countries.

Andrei Dapkiunas and Antoine Somdah also exchanged information about possibilities for advancing bilateral cooperation within the framework of the United Nations Organization and other international organizations.
